MWI is an acronym for Mor-Wear Industries. The company, Mor-Wear Industries, was started in 1968 as an Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) consumables business. Carbon and graphite, consumables in the EDM process, represented a significant portion of Mor-Wear Industries distribution business. Over the next few decades Mor-Wear Industries focused on producing highly valued added products for both EDM and high temperature applications and ultimately consolidated machine shops and distribution centers into one entity, MWI, Inc.

  • MWI acts as an independent machine shop, buying graphite from all the major manufacturers.
  • MWI utilizes Tokai Carbon’s technical and manufacturing resources. Such resources, which are not readily available to other independent machine shops, and our continual exchange of information have yielded cost-effective solutions and technical support to several customers.
